第一篇：〈結婚〉
引子：
上世紀六十年代的公共房屋設計奇特，據說出自名家手筆，升降機只停整幢大廈的若干樓層，每層一條長走廊戶戶相對，為了通風，家家索性長日門戶大開，只把欖形鐵閘拉上。大廈的設施經年失修，因為物業管理保安還未成為新興行業，沒有公眾地方的攝錄，也就沒有監控，居民可享受另類自由。
頗有點「獅子山下」精神的女主角，久已不耐居於這種環境。無奈傳統說法有所謂「養兒防老」，她掙錢本事也稍高於兄長，逐漸成了家中的經濟支柱。家中大概只有母親是唯一同情者，但雖是母女，為了換取離巢的首肯，不得不出此下策，私下作出小小酬庸。
只是，嘻皮笑臉的男生會是個好丈夫嗎？無論如何，新巢大概總比處身如同荒原的家好；母親不可能是指路明燈，而芳華漸逝，時不我予，也不容她四處覓尋。那時的蘭桂坊還沒有夜店，又從何認識青年才俊？
呀！那個時代的婦女，思想還沒進步至「獨個兒過也可以」的層次。之後職場偶遇、婚姻片段，都是千絲萬緒，在塵世中牽連、在心田上勾留…
