晚風涼抹粉牆東  Evening breezes cool the white walls east
碎步微吟韻小蟲  I amble singing to rhyme with insect songs at ease
為數歸鴻抬星眼  To count how many geese are returning I eye the sky
一枝春在小樓紅  A single flowering branch shows at my bower nigh

乍逸閒情事薄遊  Feeling free and leisurely I travel light
輕鴻飛上最高樓  A single migrating bird up the tower high
明燈萬點人如海  Ten thousand lights and a sea of people seen at bay
恍惚銀河障女牛  Much like the legend lovers in the Milky Ways

春來跨馬古城東  Approaching spring I ride to visit Ancient City out east
十里鶯花瀲灩紅  Ten thousand miles of pink flowers shine to please
鞭息徘徊亭畔路  I rein my horse to linger at the riverside pavilion near
統懷繚繞白雲中  Freeing my thoughts to roam with white clouds wherever

颯颯東風掃暮霞  Brisk east winds sweep away haze in the evening
木棉落後更無花  Kapok petals fallen no more flowers seen
簫聲咽似寒潮咽  Flute songs sounding flat much like cold tides
不見秦樓見月華  Away from taverns I see beautiful moonshines
