Hong Kong Seminar Series: Economic Freedom of Hong Kong
Hong Kong has been one of the fastest growing East Asian economies since the end of the Second World War. The adoption and practice of economic freedom have been major pillars in its economic success. The experience of Hong Kong has served as a reference for other emerging economies in the region. This seminar will review the global context and ingredients of economic freedom that have brought success and prosperity to Hong Kong. Hong Kong Literature Series – Commemorating Yesi
Leung Ping-kwan (Yesi) 梁秉鈞 (也斯) is a representative figure of the native literature in Hong Kong. To commemorate his lifetime contribution to Hong Kong Literature, Richard Charles Lee Canada-Hong Kong Library will organize a forum and a display to showcase his selected literary works on January 31, 2013.

Microsoft to kill Messenger on March 15
Microsoft will be killing off its Windows Live Messenger chat service on March 15, transitioning its more than 100 million users to Skype.
The company announced its plans to discontinue Messenger in November, but Microsoft sent a firm timetable to its users through e-mail on Tuesday. Microsoft (MSFT, Fortune 500) is directing customers to sign in to Skype with their Windows Live login information, noting that their contact lists will automatically show up in the Skype software…….(read the whole story)

In the seventies, some students went to a store in Victory Ave near Pui Ching for their extracurricular activities (mahjong) after school. Those who are in Toronto are Mahjong ‘Kings’ at our alumni functions. They assured me they put on the blue blazer of Pui Ching School!!

再言莫言__ 江紹倫
知道今年的諾貝爾文學獎得主之後,我寫了一篇《莫言不出偶然》。如今,親見他在奧斯陸受獎了,並在學院講了話和答問記者,過程順暢,深感欣慰。
有人硬要把莫言陷入政治深井,尤其是傳媒業者。對此,莫言回答〝我喜歡寫小說,我要說的都說了。我不要說的,問得再多,也不會說〞(概意)。如果說這是北方人的耿直性格,是貼切的。如果說他在〝逃避〞,請問逃避甚麽呢?自由?誰的自由?
問題是不少曾經身受政治迫害的人,如今走出了陷井,卻一定要把別人拉進去做伴。假如他們用時間虛心讀讀自己的傳統文化,容易從老子和孔子的典籍學得〝放下〞和〝恕〞的至高智慧,勇往直前,不再沉虐在怨恨裡。
有學生問孔子怎樣對待傷害過自己的人。孔子答:〝以直報怨,以德報德〞。假如有人寧願選擇停留在武俠小說的文化水平,死跟毛澤東教他們〝永遠鬥爭〞,求取〝最後勝利〞,也應該自己去鬥,不要借助他人。

聖誕義演 2012.12.24__Don Chen 陳柏齡
昨天晚上,與小兒Adam在星巴克飲嘢渡過。小兒要寫文章申請大學,年初一交卷。他希望父親給予意見。星巴克裡面燈光柔和,環境溫馨。父子情篤, 有說笑,有商量。
小兒寫我也寫。受朋友來信鼓勵,有話喜歡讀塵噹的古靈精怪. 塵噹的文章能為他們的煩悶生活,平添一點笑意。
我腦袋空洞無料,但陰濕好笑東西特多。感謝華仁老校長鼓勵寫作,自己慶幸生活在言論自由國度。所以膽子越來越大。
送兄弟姐妹笑話文章,取名 “聖誕義演”。祝福你們聖誕節快樂,新年進步。大家的友誼地久天長。
