Qing Ming** Du Mu (803-852)
Tr. YK Chan
Endless rain at Qing Ming** Festival drizzling
A traveler’s haste on the road turns nerve-racking
Whereabouts a tavern may be found
To Apricot Blossom Village afar off a cowherd points

At Qing Ming (Grave-sweeping Festival) — Du Mu
‘Round Qing Ming, almost continual is the light rain;
Wet and tired, sad trav’ller on foot is under strain.
“Could you tell me where a rest and drink I may enjoy?”
Towards the Apricot-Flow’r Village points the herd-boy.
