陶陶任性一生間  Happy always I take charge of all affairs in life
自拋官後春多醉  Retiring from office I drink high in spring days
不讀書來老更閑  Reading not often in old age leisure leads the way
琴裏知聞唯淥水  Green Waters is my favorite whenever I play music
茶中故舊是蒙山  For tea my usual favorite is the Mt. Meng top pick
窮通行止長相伴  Being poor but wise I do as I please
誰道吾今無往還  In all my activities there is no dearth of company

遙聞境會茶山夜  I hear about an evening tea party at Tea Hill
珠翠歌鐘俱繞身  Many bejeweled maidens sing and dance at will
盤下中分兩州界  Guests are served with two top tea choices on the platter
燈前各作一家春  In lantern lights all participants become family members
青娥遞舞應爭妙  Maiden dancers move showing dazzling beauty
紫筍齊嘗各鬥新  Two varieties of purple tea compete for best quality
自嘆花時北窗下  Alas whence tea flowers I shall be sick sitting by the window
蒲黃酒對病眠人  And compelled to drink this herbal wine as medicinal
