Strategic voting is a risky move in any campaign under any forms of elections. A case in history is Ho Sau-lan lost her seat when her followers were asked to transfer their votes to Martin Lee. Without this move, both Ho and Lee would have been re-elected.
A democratic flaw: Majority rules!
Ontario turned into a big blue sea by Bay Street? Hang in there. The Ottawa ridings remain unchanged; the Outaouais has turned into a love for 3 oranges.
Look at the result of each riding, especially those won by the Conservatives, if the votes of the Liberal and NDP together are greater than the Conservative, then strategic voting should work, of course all participating voters should have the ABH mindset for this to work.
Better still, some form of alliance should be form right from the beginning, file for only one candidate in each riding of the alliance, to save voters trouble. Well this is hindsight, and of course they are all in to win, even though try to fill in all slots, with newbie and such.
Is it all about vote manipulation?
Winners and losers, life goes on the way it is according to the mindset? The good news is: there is a next time, until the end of the world.
