遙望中原                                          I gaze on the Central Plain far away
荒煙外                                 Beyond the wasteland
許多城郭                                          How many deserted towns and city walls
想當年                                 In years of yore
花遮柳護                                          Behind screens of lush willows and colorful flowers
鳳樓龍閣                                          Stood many bowers and majestic towers
萬歲山前珠翠繞                   The Royal Hill adorned in pearls and emeralds
篷壺殿里笙歌作                   In the Fairy Palace flute songs echo
到而今 鐵騎滿郊畿                  Now behold enemy iron horses trod all over
風塵惡                                 Followed by dusts in fierce gusts

兵安在                                 Where are our soldiers
膏鋒鍔                                 Slain by enemy swords
民安在                                 Where are our people
填溝壑                                 They died their corps filling moats
嘆江山如故                          I sigh seeing hills and rills remaining same
千村寥落                                          But villages ruined by war frames
何日請纓提銳旅                   When will I be allowed to take up arms again
一鞭直渡清河洛                   And lead warriors to cross the river on fearless steeds
卻歸來                                 I will return in due course
再續漢陽游                          To continue this tour
騎黃鶴                                 And ride the yellow crane
