Cross-Canada coast to coast Day 22.
June 21, 2014.
Quebec City to Ottawa
….Tomorrow supposedly there is going to be
a pride parade in Toronto.
On the westbound trip, I am starting to get homesick, especially that I have fulfilled my third wish, seeing Quebec City. Mission accomplished. May be I won’t ride all the way back to Vancouver. Food for thought. Do you know of anybody that may want to buy my bike in Toronto?
Slept in this morning, and feeling my back straighter. Tom was busy mowing the big lawn, fertilizing the bushes, and doing preparation for the rain storm to arrive. Then he and Sherry drove me to the eastern part of Cape Breton, and checked out the older communities.
We had a very good day, sunny at 16C – 22C. Tom/Sherry offered to “drive” me in their car to do the Cabot Trail. That was a fantastic idea. That would allow me to fully enjoy the view without having to pay any attention to the road, GPS, fuel gauge and map, etc.
Cross-Canada coast to coast Day 16, June 15, 2014.
Fredericton, NB to Moncton, NB.
Thanks to the generosity and hospitality of George/Donna Thompson, I had a very relaxing evening and overnight at the Thompsons in Fredericton, NB.
Cross-Canada coast to coast Day 15
June 14, 2014.
Drummondville, QC to Fredericton, NB
I had a really good sleep last night. I was trying to stay up to watch the Stanley Cup final game, but I couldn’t after 1 period. Good thing that I didn’t, it went into double overtime. LA Kings won the cup.
June 13, 2014. In Quebec.
I am about to change my subject line to CCCCIR (Cross-Canada coast to coast in rain).
Cross Canada coast to coast Day 13. June 12, 2014.
I am trying to wait out the rain storm by staying in Mississauga for an extra day. It is not a bad idea at all. I was able to sleep in, and felt normal again.
…….
The alternatives :
1. Stay in GTA for 2 more days.
2. Do short rainy rides to Ottawa and Quebec City in 2 days.
3. Brace the same rain and do longer rides to Drummondville and Fredericton in 2 days.
