Glory of a New Day__Kong Shiu Loon

Hours after midnight
High above dormant city-lights
Hangs a cobalt blue sky
No wind or sound
When people are in deep slumber
The world is mine to ponderĀ

The near hill and buildings a silhouette
Farther mountain ranges in my mindset
On this huge sheet of non-glow
Three big clouds sit still white as snow
As I stand in silence to watch the show
They turn dark-grey ever so gradual

Now the sky blue becomes pure pastel
Light green mixed with grayish white
While the city enjoys its last sleep
The world is awaken whence darkness keeps
In the gentle shine of twilight
The new day begins in exhilarating beauty
