  1. This page of Chinese Canadian history finally got out of the closet. Fighting for true citizenship and civil rights continued till the repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1947, two years after WWII. Undercurrent racial discrimination would still surface at times.

This documentary made up for the shortfall of archive footage with colourful animation, which won some international award. The well-kept secret told by this film in the TV premiere broadcast had been publicized in major Canadian newspapers. As it was inserted with commercials, the film length had been edited to 47 min from the full length of 61 min.

I support the formal recognition of Operation Oblivion with a permanent display at the Canadian War Museum.
