{"id":16157,"date":"2013-08-13T20:34:30","date_gmt":"2013-08-14T00:34:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.wykontario.org\/?p=16157"},"modified":"2013-08-13T20:41:43","modified_gmt":"2013-08-14T00:41:43","slug":"the-spirit-of-hong-kong-photo-contest__rose-ho","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wykontario.org\/?p=16157","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;The Spirit of Hong Kong&#8221; Photo Contest__Rose Ho"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friends and family, I need your support&#8230;your vote.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wykontario.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/HK-Cathay-Pacific-photo-contest-lot-1-2013-Aug.pdf\">Photo Contest Lot_1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have entered the photo contest run by Cathay Pacific.\u00a0 My first submission of 11 photos have been posted on the site today.<br \/>\nI need your support.\u00a0 I need your vote.\u00a0 If you like my photos, please also get your friends to\u00a0vote for\u00a0them.<br \/>\nAlthough the voting for this lot ends Sept. 26,\u00a0the votes are counted each week for a weekly winner.\u00a0 Therefore, if you all can submit your votes this week so they are not spread over two (weeks), that would help.\u00a0 (However, don&#8217;t put it a burden on yourself to vote this week.)<br \/>\n1.\u00a0 The site is<!--more--><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cathaypacific-campaign.com\/SpiritOfHK\/en\/\">https:\/\/www.cathaypacific-campaign.com\/SpiritOfHK\/en\/<\/a><br \/>\n2.\u00a0 Go to &#8220;Gallery&#8221; to look for photos.<br \/>\n3.\u00a0 Search by name &#8220;Ho Rose Chiu Kwan Chan&#8221; for my photos.\u00a0 (Ho Rose + my Chinese name \u8096\u7fa4&#8230;with the surname of &#8216;Chan&#8217; \u9673 coming last!)<br \/>\n4.\u00a0 You can cast as many votes as you like for each one.\u00a0 (As of today, all of mine got zippo (0) vote.)<br \/>\n5.\u00a0 Of course, if you don&#8217;t like mine, you have the choice not to vote for them.<br \/>\n6.\u00a0 How each photo is ranked&#8230;the criteria is also on the site.\u00a0 Technicality is only 1\/4 of it.\u00a0 The others pertain to the label, the wordings and the relevancy to the title &#8220;What the Spirit of Hong Kong means to you?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>have enclosed a pdf file to show the photos I posted.\u00a0 But you have to go to the site to cast the vote.<\/p>\n<p>I will post a second lot next week, the last week for photo submission, and will send a reminder to you to vote for them when this second lot got posted.<\/p>\n<p>[My daughter tried to do it.\u00a0 Yes,\u00a0the process\u00a0has some pain and some restrictions.\u00a0 Also, it\u00a0requires patience.]<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Restrictive &#8211; you have to have\u00a0a google (e.g. gmail) account or Facebook to vote.<br \/>\n2.\u00a0 The first time you click on Vote, it will bring you to a page asking you for your ID (gmail or Facebook).<br \/>\n3.\u00a0 Once (2) is done, then you can vote.4.\u00a0 But after you click Vote, the response is very slow.\u00a0 If successful, a message (in a box) will come back and tell you that your voting is successful.<br \/>\n5.\u00a0 Your ID will allow you to cast one vote for one photo only.<br \/>\n6.\u00a0 Only 10 photos are shown on the display page, my daughter has difficulty locating the 11th one.\u00a0 When she clicks on page 2,\u00a0the site will bring her to other people&#8217;s photos.<br \/>\n7.\u00a0 You have to search by\u00a0Label to locate the 11th one (which is the one with title: Tough But Not Tumbled).\u00a0 My pdf file has a list of all 11 photos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friends and family, I need your support&#8230;your vote.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Photo Contest Lot_1 I have entered the photo contest run by Cathay Pacific.\u00a0 My first submission of 11 photos have been posted on the site today.
