Ascend Up Mt. Lu    by Mao Zedong (Written in 1959) 江紹倫譯

A mount alights from flight to perch on the Big River bank
To reach its green top you must overcome four hundred twists in ascent
Against the glaring sun I survey human affairs with my cool eyes
A warm wind stir up spattering showers to veil the river-top sky
Up on the Nine Leagues the yellow crane floats on friendly clouds
While the eastern coast billows roar up misty froths to engage crowds
Poet Tao did not give clear directions to reach the legendary paradise
For hardy settlers today the Land of Peach Blossom is still a favoured prize
